Organic Industrial Waste, India: SINDICATUM BIODIESEL, Uttarakhand State
, Operating
The Sindicatum biodiesel project employs a novel technology developed in-house to produce high quality and environmentally beneficial biodiesel from various waste products of the edible oil industry including spent earth, sludge oil and acid oil. The technology was first proven at a pilot plant located in Uttarakhand State, India, where a capacity of 10 tonnes per day was achieved.
The uniqueness of Sindicatum’s technology rests in its pre-treatment process that has the ability to convert any waste containing high levels of free fatty acid into virgin grade oil which can then be further processed to produce biodiesel. Not only does the biodiesel produced offset the use of polluting fossil fuels and improve local air pollution and abate significant quantities of greenhouse gas emissions, it also reduces the amount of waste products traditionally dumped while simultaneously creating a cheaper fuel product for local consumers, generating employment and enhancing national energy independence.
Sindicatum is in the process of partnering with edible oil companies in India to finance, construct and operate further biodiesel plants on a joint venture basis, combining Sindicatum’s technology and expertise with the secure waste feedstock provided by the edible oil companies’ operations.
